2022 Mercedes-Benz EQT: Compact electric van for families

Mercedes-Benz has declassified a representative of a new class – a car of the T-Class family. This Concept EQT is a new type of versatile vehicle that combines the advantages of an electric car, a small van and premium comfort.

The novelty has a length of 4945 mm, a width of 1863 mm and a height of 1826 mm. Externally, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQT is distinguished by a design, solved in the spirit of cars of the EQ family – just look at the curved radiator grill, which goes deep into the front bumper.

Particularly noteworthy are the headlights and taillights – all LED. The 21-inch light-alloy wheels give a chic look.

Access to the second and third row of seats is facilitated by wide sliding doors on both sides. The salon is designed for seven, and in the second row, you can install three child seats. The seats of the last, third row can be folded or dismantled altogether. An interesting detail: an electric skateboard is hidden in the luggage compartment under the floor.

As for the interior, another highlight is the MBUX infotainment system, which is controlled by the central touchscreen display; voice control function is also provided. All this is the first time for this class.

It is noteworthy that MBUX is capable of self-learning. For example, if someone often calls the driver at the same time, the system will display the phone number on the screen in advance, reminding you of a possible imminent call. Also, using the display, you can set up the transmission modes, monitor the recuperation process, calculate the route taking into account the availability of gas stations on the road and much more.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQT is still conceptual, but the decision on its serial production has already been made. The car will be on the conveyor in 2022. In the meantime, its fully commercial sibling, the next-generation Citan, which will also be offered in an electric version, is scheduled to be released in 2021.
