New 2023 Subaru Forester XT-Edition Debuts In Japan

Subaru unveiled a new 2023 Forester XT-special Edition  to commemorate the 50th anniversary of all-wheel-drive Subaru models. The Forester XT-Edition made its debut in Japan, with subtle styling cues and adventure-friendly equipment.

The XT-Edition is based on the Sport trim of the Subaru Forester in Japan. It is visually distinguished by the exterior shade Geyser Blue, which is offered for the first time in Japan and is derived from the North American spec model. Subaru offers white, grey, and black colour options to prospective buyers who do not like blue. All of them are combined with dark-finished 18-inch aluminium wheels and black accents all around the bodywork (grille, mirrors, bumpers, spoiler, roof rails, etc.).

Water-repellent fabric / synthetic leather upholstery for the seats with silver contrasting stitching, aluminum-style inserts on the centre tunnel, and blaze gun metallic accents on the dashboard distinguish the dark-themed interior. The interior lights have been upgraded to LEDs, and the cargo area has a practical water-repellent floor cover to allow you to transport gear such as snowboards, mountain boots, or skis without making a mess.

Unexpectedly, the XT-Edition lacks an infotainment system, instead opting for a black plastic cover and a small storage shelf in place of the central touchscreen found in more expensive trims like the STI Sport. Subaru, at the very least, added the EyeSight Safety Plus ADAS package and the digital mirror to the standard equipment list.

Under the hood, the 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine produces 175 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque. The CVT gearbox and Subaru’s Symmetrical All Wheel Drive system send power to all four wheels.

The Subaru Forester XT-Edition is already on the market in Japan, with prices starting at 3,355,000 yen . The electric tailgate is the only option, which adds $55,000  to the price of the SUV.

2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness First Look

Subaru Forester now has an off-road version – Wilderness. The Forester is the second model in the line of vehicles prepared for the “wild”. It started this spring with the Outback cross-wagon.

Externally, the Subaru Forester Wilderness crossover is distinguished by a new front end design – a unique design of the radiator grille, optics and bumpers, as well as a protective plastic body kit around the body perimeter. Since this is a “wild” version, it was not without additional engine protection. Inside, bright accents and waterproof seats.

In addition, the new SUV has a reinforced roof. Now, instead of the previous 80 kg, 100 kg of cargo can be placed on the top rack. Another use for the roof is as a base for a camping tent.

The features of the off-road version of the crossover include a modified suspension. The new Forester Wilderness has 17-inch black wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar A / T off-road tires with embossed sidewalls. The Subaru Forester Wilderness is powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 185 hp and 239 Nm. The unit works in tandem with a Lineartronic variator with eight gears that can be manually shifted.

2022 Subaru Forester Facelift Debuts In Japan

The current generation of the Subaru Forester crossover, which became the fifth in the history of the model, debuted in 2018. As the life cycle of cars gets shorter every year, manufacturers are updating them more often. So the Japanese crossover 2022 Subaru Forester was restyled.

The changes affected both the exterior and the technical part of the 2022 Subaru Forester. The car has got modernized headlights with complex graphics, an enlarged grille and redesigned bumpers. So far, the right-hand-drive version of the crossover, intended for the Japanese market, has debuted. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 174 hp. (300 Nm). Variants with a 2.0-liter 145 hp engine are also available. and a hybrid installation based on a similar unit, supplemented by an electric motor. The global left-hand drive version is due to debut in the coming months.
