Official images of the second-generation Citroen C3 Aircross have recently surfaced, signaling its imminent arrival. Originally introduced for emerging markets, including production in India and Brazil, this model shares the Smart Car platform, albeit with slight modifications to accommodate three rows of seats. The third row, specifically designed for children, features low cushions and short backrests. While the Brazilian-Indian version retains the classic Citroen design cues, the European variant showcases updated styling elements, including contemporary oval emblems.

The exterior design of the C3 Aircross takes cues from the new C3 hatchback but with subtle alterations and a heightened profile. Notable changes include more angular shapes compared to its predecessor and the inclusion of a fresh Citroen emblem on the hood. With a length of 4.39 meters, the second-generation C3 Aircross is 24 centimeters longer than its forerunner, primarily to accommodate the optional third row of seats. Citroen boasts the longest wheelbase in its class, facilitating the addition of the third row, although specific measurements are yet to be disclosed.

While the interior design of the European model remains undisclosed, speculation suggests it may mirror that of the European cross-hatchback Citroen C3.

Powertrain

Although Citroen has not divulged engine specifics, they confirm that combustion engine options, along with hybrid and electric versions, will be available. Drawing insights from related models such as the C3 and Opel Frontera, expectations lean towards a 1.2-liter turbo engine, with or without a 48-volt hybrid system. For electric vehicle enthusiasts, a full electric version boasting a 156 horsepower motor and a range of approximately 400 kilometers will be on offer. Regardless of the variant, all models will feature front-wheel drive.
