Huawei debuts the HarmonyOS-powered AITO M5 EV in China

The largest electronics manufacturer Huawei has unveiled a hybrid crossover AITO M5 that will hit the market under the AITO brand. This brand was created jointly with the subsidiary brand of the Sokon Group.

The firstborn of the new brand – the AITO M5 crossover – turned out to be 4770 mm in length. The dimension between the axles is 2880 mm. The hybrid is built on the basis of the Seres SF5 electric car, which debuted two years ago. The novelty differs from the base model with its original body design, unique interior and completely new electronics developed by Huawei.

The interior of the brand new AITO M5 flaunts a huge 15.6-inch multimedia display, powered by Harmony OS.The power plant of the AITO M5 consists of two electric motors (one on the axle), collectively delivering 428 hp. and a 125 hp 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine acting as a generator. In the top-end Performance version, the output of the electric motors is increased to 496 hp. To accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, this Performance crossover needs 4.4 seconds.

The standard equipment of the new items includes a camera with a circular view, seats with massage and ventilation functions, as well as a set of modern driver assistance systems. The start of sales of the new AITO M5 is scheduled for 2022.
