New 2025 Mitsubishi DST (xforce)seven seater SUV Revealed

The 2025 Mitsubishi DST Concept is a pre-production model of a new 7-seater mid-size SUV set to join the Japanese brand’s lineup in the ASEAN region soon.

At the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) 2024, Mitsubishi unveiled a concept car project named the DST Concept. Situated in the 7-seat mid-size SUV segment, the company plans to introduce the DST Concept as a fully realized version for sale in the near future. This model is anticipated to serve as a new flagship alongside the Xpander/Xpander Cross, Pajero Sport, and Outlander in the region.

Mitsubishi has stated that the new vehicle line will primarily focus on the ASEAN region, with an official launch planned for “fiscal year 2025.”The designers created this all-new model to “follow in the footsteps of the Xpander SUV-MPV,” aiming to capture the interests of customers specifically in the Southeast Asian market.

The exterior of the DST Concept showcases Mitsubishi’s corporate style of Gravitas & Dynamism, reminiscent of last year’s Xforce. Its larger dimensions lend a more robust appearance to the design. The front features T-shaped headlights and a striking lower bumper lip. Rather than using traditional side mirrors, the designers equipped the car with cameras, and they eliminated door handles entirely. However, the company has not disclosed the exact dimensions of the vehicle.

The two-tone interior of the DST Concept features a blend of modern yet familiar design elements. At the top of the dashboard, a single unit houses the instrument and media system screens. The central console includes a touch control panel for climate settings and other functions. Additionally, the two-level central tunnel features a handle for selecting driving modes and a transmission selector.

Among the purely conceptual features, the touch controls for the windows and the side displays for the rearview cameras stand out, though these are unlikely to make it to production. The back of the front seats includes mounted folding tables with lighting. However, the third-row bench is positioned directly against the trunk door, offering no space for luggage.

If the production version of the DST Concept is based on the Xforce, it’s likely that this three-row crossover will share technology with its compact counterpart. The five-seater SUV currently offers a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine, delivering either 103 or 105 hp depending on the market, paired with a CVT.
