All New Nissan N7 Big Electric Sedan Revealed

Nissan’s joint venture with Dongfeng has introduced the new Nissan N7 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. This electric sedan features a sleek design and innovative AI technology that automatically adjusts the driver’s seat for optimal comfort.

The upcoming Nissan N7 EV sedan will be built on the Nissan Epoch concept, which was unveiled in China at Auto China 2024. It will be the first all-electric vehicle constructed on Dongfeng Nissan’s new energy platform. According to the automaker, this new sedan is poised to set a fresh benchmark for electric vehicles in the Chinese family car segment.

Dimension

The Nissan N7 fully meets these specifications. In terms of size, it surpasses the current gasoline model of the Nissan Altima, with a length of 4930 mm, a width of 1895 mm, and a height of 1487 mm. Its wheelbase measures 2915 mm.

Exterior

The front of the Nissan N7 features a subtle prism-like design at the edge of the bumper. The compact headlights are framed by light strips on either side, creating a shape resembling the number 7 when viewed as a whole. The large lower air intake dominates the bumper’s cross-section. Above, a prominent DRL bar runs along the seam between the bumper and the hood. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the hood includes a shoulder line that aligns with the roof pillars, enhancing the overall dimension and structure of the upper body.

The side of the Nissan N7 highlights sleek, minimalist details. The door handles are seamlessly integrated, while the lower edge of the car, along with the front and rear bumpers, is crafted from matte plastic. This design choice helps reduce the risk of scratches, catering to the needs of modern car owners and reflecting a current automotive trend. The wheels feature a luxurious design with polished spokes and are expected to be around 18-19 inches in diameter.

The rear of the Nissan N7 maintains its aesthetic appeal with a semi-fastback roofline, and the trunk lid is subtly sculpted to resemble a ducktail. The taillights feature the popular cross-taillight design, with internal details emphasizing stripes positioned beneath the LED strips, echoing the front design. At the center, the brand’s name is prominently displayed, marking a new design trend for electric vehicles that is expected to become more common in the future.

The rear bumper of the Nissan N7 features a simple, smooth, and curved design, with the lower edge slightly raised to enhance the car’s sleek profile. Like the other exterior elements, the bumper is crafted from matte plastic, helping to minimize the risk of damage from scratches, rocks, and other potential hazards.

Interior

Details about the interior of the Nissan N7 have yet to be revealed, with the exception of information about the seats. The car will feature Zero Gravity seats, upholstered in a silk-like material. These seats are equipped with AI technology and 49 sensors that monitor the user’s body pressure. The system adjusts the backrest, calf support, and seat wings in real-time to ensure optimal comfort and relaxation. This advanced seating technology, which is making its debut in the automotive world, provides personalized adjustments for each user.

The cabin of the Nissan N7 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, offering up to 32GB of memory and 256GB of storage. This advanced technology will enhance the vehicle’s connectivity and infotainment capabilities, providing a smooth and responsive in-car experience.

The Nissan N7 electric car will be the first model built on the new Dongfeng Nissan modular platform, designed to accommodate both fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. A standout feature of this platform is its deep integration of automated driving systems, developed in collaboration with the Chinese company Momenta. Specializing in AI-driven autopilot algorithms, Momenta’s technology is expected to provide a high level of autonomy, enhancing the vehicle’s self-driving capabilities.

The Nissan N7 sedan is set to enter mass production and go on sale in the first half of 2025. By the end of 2026, three additional models from the new lineup will be launched: one sedan and two crossovers. Dongfeng Nissan plans to invest over 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) into production, with the joint venture team expanding from 2,000 to 4,000 employees over the next three years.
