Ford has officially revealed the highly anticipated electric version of the 2025 Ford Puma GEN-E subcompact crossover for the European market. While orders are now being accepted, deliveries are set to begin in spring 2025.
2025 Ford Puma GEN-E
The exterior of the new Ford Puma Gen-E features a unique “shield” replacing the traditional radiator grille, drawing inspiration from the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Aerodynamic enhancements, distinctive alloy wheels, and a sporty spoiler further emphasize the car’s dynamic and modern look.
The interior of the electric Puma features a major update with a completely redesigned two-level central tunnel, now equipped with a compact transmission selector instead of the traditional gear lever found in the petrol versions. Other than this change, the interior remains largely the same: it includes a 12.8-inch instrument display without a visor, a Sync 4 media system with a 12-inch screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and minimal physical buttons. Similar to the petrol model, the electric Puma Gen-E offers a generous trunk space for its class, with 574 liters available under the shelf and 1,283 liters with the rear seats folded down. Additionally, there is now a 43-liter front compartment.
Puma will offer the Gen-E in a single configuration, featuring a sole electric motor that delivers 168 PS and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 43 kWh battery. While other models in this category typically have batteries around 50 kWh, Ford asserts that the Puma Gen-E offers impressive range figures: 376 km on the combined cycle and 523 km in urban conditions.
The on-board network of the Puma Gen-E supports high-speed chargers with a 100 kW capacity, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 23 minutes. The charging port is located in the same spot as the fuel filler cap on a conventional car.
The New 2025 Ford Puma Gen-E can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h.
Ford Otosan in Romania will manufacture the Puma Gen-E alongside the hybrid version, while the Halewood plant in the UK will produce the electric plug-in model. Manufacturers expect to deliver the first production units to customers next year.
In Germany, the starting price for the base configuration of the Ford Puma Gen-E is 36,900 euros, while the fully equipped Gen-E Premium version costs from 39,400 euros.
