Tata Curvv Budget-Friendly Coupe SUV Launched in India

Tata Motors has unveiled the production-Model Curvv, a new coupe-SUV built on the New Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture (ATLAS) platform. The Curvv will be available with a variety of powertrain options, petrol, diesel, and Pure electric variants.

The Tata Curvv measures 4.30m in length, 1.81m in width, and 1.63m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.56m.

The production-ready Curvv closely resembles its concept version, maintaining the distinctive design and styling elements that made the concept stand out.

The main differentiating features between the EV and ICE models are the grille-less front design, a bumper-mounted charging port, and EV badges on the electric version. Otherwise, the sheet metal on the profile and rear appears to be identical. Additionally, the electric model is equipped with a different set of alloy wheels designed to enhance aerodynamics.

Its fascia features sleek LED headlights and a bold grille that enhance its futuristic appeal. The coupe-like silhouette provides a sporty appearance, while the uniquely designed alloy wheels add to its overall allure. At the rear, sleek LED tail lights extend across the width of the vehicle, completing the modern and cohesive look.

The Curvv offers a ground clearance of 190 mm and a water wading capacity of 450 mm. When the rear seats are folded down, the boot space can measure over 973 liters, with a capacity of 500 liters under normal conditions.

The dashboard, reminiscent of the Nexon’s design, features a 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen at the center and a 10.25-inch driver display. Below the infotainment unit and the trapezoidal AC vents, there is a touch-based climate control panel.

In terms of features, the Curvv includes a panoramic sunroof, It offers a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, and front ventilated seats. Additionally, the EV comes with a 320W JBL sound system and connected technology. A hands-free tailgate is also standard.

Tata Curvv Powertrain

The SUV can be equipped with either internal combustion engines or Pure electric powertrains on the ATLAS platform, providing a varied selection of powertrain options.

The internal combustion engines -powered version of the Curvv comes with two types of turbocharged engines: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing (120hp and 170Nm),(125hp and 225Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel engine generating 118 hp and and 260Nm of Torque. The driver can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic . First time in India, diesel engines offered 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The pure electric Curvv comes with two battery packs. The base model is equipped with a 45 kWh battery and a single electric motor, producing 150 hp power and a range of 502 km. The Top Model features a larger 55 kWh battery and a more powerful electric motor producing 165 hp and 585 km range on a single charge. 

Pricing for the Tata Curvv EV in India starts at Rs 17.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 21.99 lakh ,The company has not yet disclosed the prices for the ICE-powered Tata Curvv models, which are expected to be announced on September 2.
