The American division of Honda revealed the new generation of the 2026 Passport Trailsport model in July. Now, they have released official photos and a video showcasing a camouflaged test version of the vehicle.
In 1993, the manufacturer released the Passport as an OEM vehicle for the Isuzu “MuWizard model.”
The company released the second generation model in 1997. Up until this model, it was an Isuzu OEM vehicle.
Honda released the current third-generation model in 2019 as the first full model change in 16 years, and Honda developed this third-generation model independently.
2026 Honda Passport Trailsport
They have not disclosed the dimensions of the new Honda Passport yet.For reference, the outgoing model measures 4,803 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,834 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,817 mm and a ground clearance of 206 mm.
The images showcase a boxier design compared to the outgoing Passport, featuring more upright front and rear ends and a flat hood.The teaser, which the team released in July, hinted at striking amber daytime running lights that viewers can see faintly through the camouflage. The Passport TrailSport also appears to have large grille openings and comes equipped with rugged seven-spoke wheels.
The new Honda Passport will retain the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine, which will receive upgrades to enhance its power, although Honda has yet to disclose the exact output. The previous generation’s engine produced 284 hp and 355 Nm of torque. Additionally, the new SUV will feature a ten-speed automatic transmission, replacing the nine-speed found in the earlier model. Finally, the crossover will come equipped with a second-generation i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system, featuring individual clutches for engaging the rear wheels.
An official reveal date and when the new model will go on sale remain uncertain. However, Honda is anticipated to unveil the 2026 Passport and the Passport TrailSport by the end of 2024, with sales expected to begin in early 2025.
