The refreshed Mazda BT-50 boasts a completely redesigned front end, featuring new headlights, a revised bumper, and an updated radiator grille highlighted by a prominent corporate logo. This redesign is in line with Mazda’s evolving Kodo design language, giving the truck a modern look similar to the latest Mazda models.

The wheel arch extensions are now more pronounced, while the rear of the truck sports revised taillights and a new bumper, with an enlarged corporate emblem. “Additionally, they have introduced three new body colors and refreshed the alloy wheel design. So far, the company has only released images of the high-spec double-cab version, but they will continue to offer simpler configurations, including single-cab and extended-cab options for the BT-50.

The updated Mazda BT-50 now offers a color palette of seven options, including new choices such as Red Earth Metallic Hero, Geode White Pearl, and Sailing Blue Metallic.

Interior

Inside the cabin, the Mazda BT-50 features a standout 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with touch shortcut buttons and a rotary volume control. Complementing this is a 7-inch Multi-Information Display that offers additional functionality and works seamlessly with the center screen.

The 9-inch display in the Mazda BT-50 provides essential driving information, such as data from the Driving Assistance System, steering angle, real-time vehicle angle, tire pressure monitoring, driving mode, and diff lock status.

“Furthermore, the update adds a USB-C power supply for easy device charging and introduces a wireless Android Auto system that was previously limited to Apple CarPlay.” They have upgraded the door panels and front console with higher-quality materials, shifting from brown to black for a more contemporary aesthetic.”

The flagship model showcases black leather seats paired with brick orange Maztex suede accents, complete with BT-50 badges on the headrests.

The Mazda BT-50’s suite of active safety and driver assistance technologies has been upgraded with a new front stereo camera. It now includes an active lane-keeping assist feature that can apply brakes if it detects you’re about to reverse into another vehicle’s path. Additionally, traffic jam assist has been added, and automatic emergency braking has been enhanced to identify motorcycles and pedestrians at intersections. Emergency lane control can now also detect undivided road edges, further improving safety.

“The engineers have enhanced the rearview camera with a water-repellent coating, and it now displays dynamic navigation lines on the touchscreen for added convenience.”

Powertrain

The 2025 Mazda BT-50 offers turbo diesel power in two variations. The first is a 3.0-liter engine that delivers a robust 190 horsepower and 450 Newton meters of torque. The second option is a 1.9-liter engine, generating 150 horsepower and 350 Newton meters of torque.

Drivers have the option of a 6-speed manual transmission with Genius Sport Shift or a 6-speed automatic transmission with RevTronic.”The vehicle offers both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations, featuring Part-Time Terrain Command with Diff-Lock, which the driver controls electronically.”

For enhanced off-road capabilities, the Rough Terrain Mode optimizes engine performance, allowing operation in 2H, 4H, and 4L.”Additionally, both engines feature DPD diesel exhaust filter technology that effectively reduces soot and particulate emissions, ensuring compliance with Euro 5 standards.”

“The updated Mazda BT-50 is set to arrive at Australian dealerships in the first quarter of 2025. However, the company has not yet confirmed whether it will offer this refreshed model in other markets.”
