New Kawasaki Corleo Robot Hydrogen Bike 2050

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a leading Japanese manufacturer, has introduced its latest concept: Kawasaki Corleo, a four-legged robot driven by hydrogen and powered by artificial intelligence. Built to be ridden much like a horse, this groundbreaking prototype was showcased at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, drawing attention for its blend of clean energy innovation and cutting-edge robotics.

According to Kawasaki, Corleo is designed to handle rough and varied terrains effortlessly. Its four independent robotic legs provide balance and stability on different surfaces, with each leg functioning separately to deliver a smoother, more controlled ride, even over uneven ground.

Kawasaki Corleo is powered by a hydrogen engine, equipped with a 150cc hydrogen motor that produces electricity to drive its four legs. Kawasaki markets it as an “off-road” mobility platform, emphasizing its clean energy operation to reduce environmental impact.

Corleo’s design takes cues from Kawasaki’s motorcycle division, boasting a sleek, streamlined body constructed from a combination of metal and carbon materials.

Corleo features a head-like shield at the front, drawing inspiration from motorcycle aesthetics, and is equipped with built-in lights to ensure improved visibility in both daylight and nighttime conditions.

Corleo comes with a heads-up display (HUD) that offers real-time data, including hydrogen levels, navigation details, and movement stability indicators like the rider’s weight distribution. Kawasaki notes that Corleo operates without traditional control buttons; instead, it responds to the rider’s body movements, dynamically adjusting its steps based on shifts in the rider’s center of gravity.

Corleo features rubber “hooves” on its legs, providing improved traction on both hard and soft surfaces. Kawasaki also highlights that the robot is capable of jumping over obstacles, although detailed performance specifications have not been disclosed.

At present, Corleo remains in the concept phase, with Kawasaki yet to reveal technical details such as speed, range, or battery life. A company spokesperson indicated that Corleo is part of a long-term vision, with a possible market release anticipated around 2050. However, additional information regarding the development timeline or commercial plans has not been provided.
