The all-new 2026 Audi A6 Avant has been revealed as the most aerodynamic Audi station wagon ever built with an internal combustion engine.

2026 Audi A6 Avant

A new generation of the Audi A6 has been unveiled in Germany, set to replace the 2018 model. However, in Europe, the body style options have been limited—only the Audi A6 Avant station wagon is available for now. It seems that the sedan version will be introduced later, and it will only be available in the Chinese market.

The new 2026 Audi A6 Avant has been designed to be more dynamic, efficient, and digitally advanced than ever. Both the gasoline and diesel engines come equipped with the latest “MHEV Plus” mild hybrid technology, which enhances performance while also reducing CO2 emissions.

the sixth-generation 2026 Audi A6 avant is essentially the result of a thorough modernization of its predecessor. As a result, it retains the same proportions and wheelbase (2927 mm), but the design has been slightly softened, partly for improved aerodynamics—the station wagon boasts a claimed drag coefficient (c x) of 0.25. The headlights and taillights now feature animated LED sections, following the trend set by other recent Audi models. An optional panoramic glass roof with nine adjustable elements allows for independent control of transparency. Standard wheel sizes range from 18 to 21 inches.

The interior of the new Audi A6 Avant follows the design language of other modern Audis, featuring a sleek and high-tech layout. The front panel is equipped with two screens housed in a single curved casing: an 11.9-inch instrument display and a 14.5-inch multimedia screen. An optional third 10.9-inch screen is available for the front passenger. The multimedia system runs on an Android operating system and offers over-the-air updates for seamless functionality.

the trunk space has decreased compared to the previous generation, offering 503 liters under the curtain and 1,534 liters with the rear seats folded, compared to the previous 565 and 1,680 liters, respectively.

The 2025 Audi A6 Avant entry-level model comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine generating 201 horsepower and features front-wheel drive. Additionally, there’s a more fuel-efficient variant, also equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine producing the same 201 horsepower, available with both front- and all-wheel drive options.

The top-tier version of the Audi A6 Avant is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivering 362 horsepower and featuring a 48-volt starter generator. This powerful engine allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 249 km/h. In comparison, the front-wheel-drive petrol version with a four-cylinder engine reaches 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, while the diesel model achieves this in 7.9 seconds with front-wheel drive or 7 seconds with all-wheel drive.
Pre-orders for the new Audi A6 Avant in Europe will begin in March, with prices starting at €58,000 for the base model featuring a gasoline turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Production has already started at the brand’s facility in Neckarsulm, Germany.
