The latest iteration of the Nissan Qashqai facelift for 2024 has just been officially launched in Europe, boasting subtle yet impactful changes that enhance its exterior design with a sleeker appearance. Offering both Mild-hybrid and e-POWER powertrains, Nissan continues to provide versatility for its customers.

Having been in production since 2006, the Qashqai has undergone two generational shifts, with the current third-generation model introduced in 2021. Particularly popular in Europe, the Qashqai saw a notable increase in sales in 2023, with dealers moving 144,648 units—a 25% rise from the previous year, according to JATO Dynamics.

Despite its strong performance, Nissan opted for a planned update to the model, unveiling the first official glimpses early last week before fully revealing the refreshed design. The new Qashqai showcases significant aesthetic revisions, drawing inspiration from the sleek profile of the all-electric Ariya SUV.

Retaining its status as a compact SUV, second only to the X-Trail in size, the Qashqai’s minor refresh emphasizes sleekness in its design, with a revamped front end featuring X-shaped headlights seamlessly integrated into the grille, exuding a sporty Ariya-esque vibe.

At the rear, LED taillights with a distinct boomerang design now sport a new lighting pattern, while an optional black upper body extending to the roof enhances its visual appeal. Standard 18-inch alloy wheels grace the Qashqai, with upper trim levels offering larger options at 19 or 20 inches.

Inside the cabin, luxury meets sportiness with Alcantara accents (model-dependent) enhancing the ambiance. Decorative elements on the center console reflect Japanese craftsmanship and shoot the ball, while passengers can customize the ambient lighting throughout the cabin to suit their preferences.

Setting a new benchmark for connectivity, the 2024 nissan Qashqai facelift becomes the first Nissan model in Europe to feature Google integration within the Nissan Connect system, complete with Google Maps functionality. With access to their Google Account, drivers can effortlessly navigate to saved destinations and utilize Google Assistant for various commands.

Moreover, the Google integration allows for additional app downloads via Google Play, complemented by Nissan Connected Services, enabling remote control functionalities such as locking/unlocking doors and receiving intrusion alerts via smartphone.

Under the hood, the European version of the updated Qashqai retains its hybrid technology, with mild hybrid variants featuring a 1.3-liter petrol turbo engine producing 140 or 158 hp, alongside a 12-volt starter-generator and a 1.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. Meanwhile, higher-tier options boast Nissan’s proprietary e-Power system, coupling a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with a 157 hp electric motor.

With orders set to commence in the upcoming summer, pricing details for the revamped Nissan Qashqai will be disclosed at a later date, promising continued innovation and refinement in the compact SUV segment.
