The change of generations brought a number of transformations to the Skoda Fabia hatchback. The fourth-generation 2022 Skoda Fabia model is technically close to the European version of the Volkswagen Polo, Audi A1 and other compacts of the German concern.
This similarity is explained by the platform change. The new Skoda Fabia 2022 is built on the MQB-A0 architecture. In length, the hatchback has added 111 mm and now reaches 4107 mm. The increase in width was 28 mm (up to 1780 mm). The wheelbase is 94 mm longer (2564 mm). Skoda Fabia’s trunk holds 380 liters – 50 liters more than before. According to the company, the fourth-generation model boasts the most spacious interior of any subcompact model.
The exterior of the model has been redesigned in accordance with the brand’s new corporate style used in the creation of Scala, Kodiaq, Enyaq iV. Among the “records” of the fourth generation model is the drag coefficient Cx of just 0.28 against the previous 0.32. The result was a reduction in fuel consumption by 0.2 l / 100 km at a constant speed of 120 km / h. This, in turn, had an impact on CO2 emissions – 5 g / km less.
The Skoda Fabia 2022 has a textured front panel with large round ventilation deflectors at the edges, connected by a decorative strip. Above the front panel rises a multimedia tablet with gesture and voice control. There is also internet radio, Wi-Fi and real-time traffic information. For the first time, dual-zone climate control and ambient interior lighting are included as standard. In basic versions, the hatchback is equipped with analog gauges and a 6.2 or 8.2-inch monitor. At the top, there is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.0-inch multimedia display.
The engine range includes three petrol units: a 1.0-liter with 64 hp, its turbocharged version with 108 hp. and a 1.5-liter turbocharged 148 hp. The younger motor is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. A pair of turbocharged engines got a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
