2023 Kia Telluride:-Simultaneously with the Hyundai Palisade crossover , its closest relative, the three-row Kia Telluride SUV, underwent a planned restyling . Both cars are on display at the New York Auto Show. Unlike Palisade, Telluride is virtually unknown outside of North America. But in the States, it is sold even better than its relative under the Hyundai brand: the result of last year is 94,000 cars against 87,000. The Telluride is also unique in that three-quarters of its buyers choose a Kia for the first time.

Not otherwise, the Americans peck at the brutal design. Therefore, they did not begin to subject him to serious changes. Telluride has retained its recognizable appearance, although the bumpers, grille, all optics and even the door linings are new. The pattern of navigation lights has changed: two vertical stripes instead of the previous rectangular rims. The design of the wheels has also been revised.
Salon updated radically. Now there is a single panel with two screens (12.3 inches each) without a visor. Although a full-fledged “analogue” climate control panel and even “music” control buttons are retained on the center console. A new steering wheel appeared, finishing materials were changed, a larger projection display was installed (10 inches instead of 8.5) with an expanded set of displayed information.
Among the options, a saloon rear-view mirror with a full-screen screen, to which the image from the upper rear-view camera is transmitted, appeared. Instead of USB-A connectors, now modern USB-C. Telluride can be unlocked from a smartphone via Wi-Fi connection (transmitter built into the head unit). Improved adaptive cruise control with the function of automatic lane change when driving on the highway. There is still an eight-seat and seven-seat interior layout to choose from – with a sofa or separate armchairs on the second row.
There are no technical changes: Kia Telluride is offered only with a petrol aspirated V6 3.8 GDI (295 hp) and an eight-speed automatic. You can choose front or all-wheel drive. The only new thing is the electronic assistant of descent from the mountain. And in the gamut, two versions of off-road capability appeared at once. They are shown in the presentation photos.
The first modification is called Telluride X-Line, and formally it replaced the Nightfall Edition. Such a crossover has a full-time all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance by 10 mm, original 20-inch wheels and more powerful roof rails. The traction control calibrations have been changed, and an additional towing mode (Tow Mode) has appeared, in which the clutch works with preload, and the box keeps lower gears. A more advanced version of the Telluride X-Pro is 18-inch wheels with off-road tires, a household outlet in the trunk (in America it is 110 volts), as well as an increased towing weight from 2270 to 2495 kg.
Sales of updated crossovers in the US should begin in the summer. Now the pre-reform Telluride here costs from 33 thousand dollars. The company does not report a possible expansion of the geography of sales.
