New 2022 Mazda CX-5 facelift leaked in China

The current generation of the Mazda CX-5 crossover entered the market in 2016 and still hasn’t received a successor. According to some reports, it will be presented in 2023, but for now, it was decided to update the current Mazda crossover.

Little is known about the new product. Basically, her appearance is revealed, and even then thanks to photographs of the Ministry of Industry of China. Judging by the pictures, the crossover got other bumpers and a drawing of the radiator grille. The headlights are completely new with L-shaped LED DRL sections. Not without replacing the taillights.

The overall dimensions of the updated Mazda CX-5 are as follows: 4575 mm in length (+20 mm), width and height remain the same – 1842 and 1685 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is 2700 mm.

And if the exterior and dimensions of the crossover are known, then the interior remains a mystery. However, one should not expect drastic changes. The maximum that can change is the diagonal of the screen of the multimedia system and, possibly, new finishing materials will appear.

The updated Mazda CX-5 crossover will be driven by the old 2.0 and 2.5-liter gasoline engines. The return of the first – 155 hp, the second – 196 hp. Previously, both motors were paired with an automatic transmission.

The premiere of the Mazda CX-5 is expected before the end of 2021. The crossover will go on sale in 2022. The cost will become known closer to the start of sales.
