In preparation for the premiere of the new 2022 Kia Sportage, the South Korean brand has released three blacked-out teasers of the highly anticipated crossover. Kia’s VP of Design Karim Habib, who worked at BMW and Infiniti, was responsible for the appearance of the fifth-generation model.

The exterior of the new 2022 kia Sportage is designed in the style of “Opposites United”. The front of the crossover is adorned with a huge black grille framed with thin DRLs. The rear lights are connected by a thin transverse strip that runs along the stern.
The concept of the interior is in a modern spirit with a single curved glass, under which screens of devices (12.3 inches) and media systems are installed covered with a single curved glass. This is not the first time that such a solution has been used in Kia. We previously saw it in the Kia EV6 electric car.
No word on the engines or transmissions yet, but the Sportage will likely have the same tech as the next-generation Hyundai Tucson sibling. That is, aspirated engines, gasoline turbo engines, diesel engines and hybrids are being prepared for different countries.
The first market for the fifth-generation crossover will be South Korea, where sales are scheduled to start in July.
